Measuring |
The graduated cylinder has graduations
on it that will enable you to read the
exact volume of gas that was collected.
Before recording the volume of gas collected,
make sure that the level of water in the
graduated cylinder and the level of water
in the basin are even with each other. |

Record the volume of gas collected in
your laboratory notebook by carefully reading
the graduated cylinder. |

Thoroughly wipe the lighter clean and
dry using a paper towel and weigh it on
the balance. Again, record the mass to
the nearest hundredth of a gram. |

Measure and record the temperature of
the water bath using the thermometer in
your laboratory drawer. |
|
Record the barometric pressure. The
value of the barometric pressure will be
provided by the TA. |
