Concentration

Methyl bromide reacts with sodium ethoxide in ethanol to form methyl ethyl ether.

Let's see how the concentration of the nucleophile, sodium ethoxide, effects the rate of this reaction.

We will use the same a low concentration of methyl bromide, 0.0010 M, in all of the experiments and vary the concentration of sodium ethoxide.

The solvent is ethyl alcohol at 25° C.
