Patricia Phillips-Batoma joined the Department of Chemistry as a Computer-Assisted Design Specialist in August, 2000. She oversees the general operation of the Chemistry Learning Center and assists faculty members with the use of instructional technology. Prior to her current position in Chemistry, Patricia worked for the Illinois Online Network as a visiting Computer-Assisted Instruction Specialist. She earned a Ph. D. from the Department of French at the University of Illinois. While completing her degree in French, she designed and taught online courses in translation. She is interested in exploring the applications of instructional technology to the teaching of chemistry as well as to other areas of study.
