Scigress (CaChe)
Scigress Explorer™ (previously CAChe™) is a desktop molecular modelling software package designed to help both the beginning chemistry student and the expert researcher. The Chemistry Learning Center purchased a campus license for Scigress and installed it on all of the machines in the CLC. Our license allows us to distribute the software to anyone associated with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Students and staff who wish to install the software on a personal PC will download it through the following link, and should send an email to clc@scs.uiuc.edu to request the license keys for PC.

We believe that Scigress will be useful to all chemistry students because it allows you quickly to build any molecule, to view it in three dimensions and to rotate it. In addition, Scigress will help you find the ideal conformation for your molecule and allow you to run experiments on it.
To access the Scigress program in the Chemistry Learning Center, log on to the Scigress desktop by typing in "cache" as both user name and password. Like this:

Double click on the "Workspace" icon to open Scigress:
