CLC Tutoring Services

The Chemistry Learning Center provides a variety of options if you need to find a chemistry tutor. These options are listed below.

Walk-in Tutoring: The Department of Chemistry provides walk-in tutoring services in the Chemistry Learning Center from 8:30 am until 5 pm Mon. thru Fri. This service is free to everyone. The tutors are Chemistry Department Graduate Teaching Assistants who are assigned to the Learning Center as part of their teaching assignment. The CLC supervisor is also available to tutor students. Please consult our Fall 07 CLC tutoring schedule.

AXE Tutors: AXE tutors are volunteer members of the AXE Chemistry Fraternity who provide tutoring services as part of their outreach activities. Their FA 07 Hours are also listed on our Fall 07 tutoring schedule.

Tutors-for-Hire: The Chemistry Learning Center provides a list of people who are available to work as tutors-for-hire. The CLC does not verify the credentials of these individuals. The list is generated via a web form that is available to the general public. If you consult this list to find a tutor-for-hire, we strongly suggest that you arrange to meet with your tutor in a public place, such as a Library or even the Chemistry Learning Center, during daylight hours. Click here to see the FA07 Tutor-for-Hire List (link coming soon).

Tutor-for-Hire Web form: Are you good at chemistry and talented at explaining difficult concepts to others? Yes? Well, put your name on our Tutor-for-Hire list. We ask you to fill out a short web form with your name, info. about your chemistry background and contact info. Soon after you fill out the form, your name will appear on our list. What are you waiting for? Sign up today!

ACS Student Affiliates: The American Chemical Society Student Affiliates (ACSSA) provides unlimited one on one tutoring for a small fee per semester. Tutors are members of the ACSSA. For more information, see their web site at http://www.scs.uiuc.edu/~acs/ .
